मैन्दश्च द्विविदश्चैव ह्यङ्गदो गन्धमादनः ।
हनुमान्श्च सुषेणश्च सर्वे च हरियूथपाः ॥६-१००-५॥
maindaśca dvividaścaiva hyaṅgado gandhamādanaḥ |
hanumānśca suṣeṇaśca sarve ca hariyūthapāḥ ॥6-100-5॥
Translation
"(And whose branches are) Mainda, Dvivida, Angada, Gandhamadana, Hanuman, Sushena, and all the monkey commanders."

English Commentary
Continuing the metaphor, Ravana lists the formidable warriors of the opposing side. By calling them 'branches', he acknowledges their strength but implies their dependency on Shri Rama. Listing Hanuman and others shows Ravana's awareness of who constitutes the structural support of the enemy army.

रावण अपनी रूपक-रचना को जारी रखते हुए शत्रु के प्रमुख योद्धाओं की गणना करता है। वह अपने शत्रुओं की शक्ति को कम नहीं आंक रहा, बल्कि उन्हें 'शाखाएं' मानकर यह स्वीकार कर रहा है कि वे श्री राम के सहारे ही खड़े हैं। हनुमान आदि का नाम लेना यह दिखाता है कि रावण जानता है कि ये योद्धा उस वृक्ष का अभिन्न अंग हैं।
