Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
तस्मिन् प्रतिहते ऽस्त्रे तु रावणो राक्षसाधिपः ।
क्रोधं च द्विगुणं चक्रे क्रोधाच्चास्त्रमनन्तरम् ॥६-१०१-१॥
tasmin pratihate 'stre tu rāvaṇo rākṣasādhipaḥ |
krodhaṃ ca dviguṇaṃ cakre krodhāccāstramanantaram ॥6-101-1॥
Translation
When that weapon was countered, Ravana, the king of Rakshasas, doubled his rage and, impelled by that anger, immediately prepared to discharge another missile.
हिंदी अनुवाद
जब उस अस्त्र को विफल कर दिया गया, तब राक्षसों के राजा रावण ने अपने क्रोध को दोगुना कर लिया और उस क्रोध के वशीभूत होकर उसने तुरंत ही दूसरा अस्त्र छोड़ने का विचार किया।
English Commentary
This verse depicts Ravana's frustration and escalating hubris. When Shri Rama counters his weapons, instead of feeling remorse, Ravana becomes even more enraged. This is characteristic of a demonic nature where failure does not awaken wisdom but further clouds the intellect. Ravana is now desperate to exert his full might against the Lord.

इस प्रसंग में रावण की हताशा और बढ़ते हुए अहंकार का चित्रण है। जब श्री राम उसके अस्त्रों को विफल कर देते हैं, तो वह ग्लानि अनुभव करने के स्थान पर और अधिक क्रोधित हो जाता है। यह राक्षसी प्रवृति का परिचायक है जहाँ असफलता विवेक को जाग्रत नहीं करती बल्कि उसे और अधिक कुंठित कर देती है। यहाँ रावण अपनी पूरी सामर्थ्य झोंकने के लिए व्याकुल है।
