तस्य बाणैश्च चिच्छेद धनुर्गजकरोपमम् ।
लक्ष्मणो राक्षसेन्द्रस्य पञ्चभिर्निशितैः शरैः ॥६-१०१-१६॥
tasya bāṇaiśca ciccheda dhanurgajakaropamam |
lakṣmaṇo rākṣasendrasya pañcabhirniśitaiḥ śaraiḥ ॥6-101-16॥
Translation
With five sharp arrows, Lakshmana severed the bow of the Rakshasa king, which was as thick as an elephant's trunk.
हिंदी अनुवाद
लक्ष्मण ने पाँच तीखे बाणों के द्वारा राक्षसराज रावण के हाथी की सूँड के समान विशाल धनुष को भी काट डाला।
English Commentary
Comparing the bow to an elephant's trunk ('Gajakara') highlights its thickness and strength. Shri Lakshmana disarmed Ravana by severing it with five arrows. This was a major strategic triumph. For an archer, the breaking of his bow is the collapse of the very foundation of his martial identity and power.

धनुष की तुलना हाथी की सूँड (गजकर) से करना उसकी मजबूती और विशालता को दर्शाता है। श्री लक्ष्मण जी ने उसे 'पाँच बाणों' से काटकर रावण को निहत्था कर दिया। यह एक महान सामरिक विजय थी। एक धनुर्धर के लिए धनुष का टूटना उसके पौरुष और शक्ति के आधार का टूटना है।
