Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
नीलमेघनिभांश्चास्य सदश्वान् पर्वतोपमान् ।
जघानाप्लुत्य गदया रावणस्य विभीषणः ॥६-१०१-१७॥
nīlameghanibhāṃścāsya sadaśvān parvatopamān |
jaghānāplutya gadayā rāvaṇasya vibhīṣaṇaḥ ॥6-101-17॥
Translation
Thereafter, Vibhishana, leaping up, slew Ravana's mountain-like horses, which were as dark as blue clouds, with his mace.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तदनन्तर विभीषण ने उछलकर अपनी गदा के प्रहार से रावण के उन पर्वत समान विशाल और नील मेघ के समान काले घोड़ों को मार डाला।
English Commentary
Shri Vibhishana enters active combat here. He targets Ravana's last mode of mobility—the horses. Comparing the steeds to 'blue clouds' signifies their formidable nature. This act was intended to completely immobilize Ravana, serving as a testament to Vibhishana's firm commitment to the side of Dharma.

विभीषण जी यहाँ सक्रिय युद्ध में सम्मिलित होते हैं। उन्होंने रावण के गति के अंतिम साधन—घोड़ों—पर प्रहार किया। घोड़ों की तुलना 'नील मेघ' से करना उनकी भयंकरता को दर्शाता है। विभीषण जी का यह कृत्य रावण को पूरी तरह से स्थिर (Immobilize) करने के लिए था। यह उनके धर्म-पक्ष में दृढ़ता का प्रमाण है।
