Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
मोक्षितस्ते बलश्लाघिन् यस्मादेवं विभीषणः ।
विमुच्य राक्षसं शक्तिस्त्वयीयं विनिपात्यते ॥६-१०१-२८॥
mōkṣitastē balaślāghin yasmādēvaṃ vibhīṣaṇaḥ |
vimuçya rākṣasaṃ śaktistvayiīyaṃ vinipātyatē ॥6-101-28॥
Translation
O you who boast of Your strength! Since You have thus saved Vibhishana, leaving that Rakshasa aside, this Shakti is now being cast upon You.
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे अपने बल की प्रशंसा करने वाले! चूँकि तुमने विभीषण को इस प्रकार बचा लिया है, इसलिए अब इस राक्षस (विभीषण) को छोड़कर यह शक्ति तुम्हारे ऊपर ही गिराई जाती है।
English Commentary
Ravana speaks in a mocking tone. He calls Shri Lakshmana 'Balashlaghin' (boaster of strength), which is actually his own trait. He makes it clear that Lakshmana must now save Himself instead of Vibhishana. This reflects the demonic tendency to target the one who performs a virtuous act of protection.

रावण यहाँ उपहासपूर्ण लहजे में बात कर रहा है। वह लक्ष्मण जी को 'बल-श्लाघिन्' (बल का घमण्ड करने वाला) कहता है, जो स्वयं उसी का स्वभाव है। वह यह स्पष्ट कर देता है कि अब लक्ष्मण जी को विभीषण के स्थान पर स्वयं को बचाना होगा। यह असुरों की वह वृत्ति है जहाँ वे उपकार करने वाले को ही दंडित करना चाहते हैं।
