Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
सा क्षिप्ता भीमवेगेन शक्राशनिसमस्वना ।
शक्तिरभ्यपतद्वेगाल्लक्ष्मणं रणमूर्धनि ॥६-१०१-३२॥
sā kṣiptā bhīmavēgēna śakrāśanisamasvanā |
śaktirabhyapatadvēgāllakṣmaṇaṃ raṇamūrdhani ॥6-101-32॥
Translation
Hurled with terrifying speed and resounding like Indra's thunderbolt, that Shakti rushed toward Lakshmana with great velocity at the front of the battle.
हिंदी अनुवाद
भयंकर वेग से छोड़ी गई और इन्द्र के वज्र के समान गूँजने वाली वह शक्ति रणभूमि के अग्रभाग में बड़े वेग से लक्ष्मण की ओर झपटी।
English Commentary
The momentum of the Shakti is compared to the sound of a thunderbolt ('Ashani'). It was not just a weapon but a cataclysmic energy. The word 'Abhyapatat' vividly captures the speed of its pounce. Shri Lakshmana now had very little time left to defend Himself.

शक्ति के वेग की तुलना वज्र (अशनि) के शब्द से की गई है। यह केवल एक अस्त्र नहीं था, बल्कि एक प्रलयंकारी ऊर्जा थी। 'अभ्यपतत्' शब्द उसके झपटने की गति को सजीव कर देता है। लक्ष्मण जी के सामने अब अपनी जान बचाने का बहुत ही कम समय शेष था।
