न्यपतत् सा महावेगा लक्ष्मणस्य महोरसि ।
जिह्वेवोरगराजस्य दीप्यमाना महाद्युतिः ॥६-१०१-३५॥
nyapatat sā mahāvēgā lakṣmaṇasya mahōrasi |
jihvēvōragarājasya dīpyamānā mahādyutiḥ ॥6-101-35॥
Translation
Possessing great velocity and shining with immense luster, that Shakti fell upon the broad chest of Lakshmana like the tongue of the king of serpents.
हिंदी अनुवाद
अत्यंत वेग वाली और दिव्य तेज से चमकती हुई वह शक्ति, सर्पराज की जीभ के समान लक्ष्मण की विशाल छाती पर गिरी।
English Commentary
The analogy to the 'tongue of the king of serpents' is both terrifying and precise. Just as a serpent's flickering tongue strikes its prey, the Shakti tore through Lakshmana's chest. This sight was heart-rending for the Vanara army. It portrays the lethal strike of unrighteousness that even jolted the incarnation of Lord Shesha.
हिंदी टीका
'उरगराजस्य जिह्वा' (सर्पराज की जीभ) की उपमा अत्यंत डरावनी और सटीक है। जैसे साँप की जीभ लपलपाती हुई शिकार को डसती है, वैसे ही उस शक्ति ने लक्ष्मण जी के वक्ष को चीर दिया। यह दृश्य वानर सेना के लिए हृदयविदारक था। यह अधर्म के उस घातक प्रहार का चित्रण है जिसने साक्षात् शेषनाग के अवतार को भी विचलित कर दिया।
