Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
सो ऽयमद्य रणे पापश्चक्षुर्विषयमागतः ।
चक्षुर्विषयमागम्य नायं जीवितुमर्हति ॥६-१०१-५३॥
sō 'yamadya raṇē pāpaścākṣurviṣayamāgataḥ |
cākṣurviṣayamāgamya nāyaṃ jīvitumā rhati ॥6-101-53॥
Translation
That very sinner has today come within the range of my vision in battle. Having come before my eyes, he does not deserve to remain alive.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वही पापी रावण आज युद्ध में मेरी आँखों के सामने आ गया है। मेरी दृष्टि के सम्मुख आने के बाद अब वह जीवित रहने योग्य नहीं है।
English Commentary
Shri Rama's 'vision' here is the literal judgment of Fate. By calling Ravana 'Papah' (sinner), He justifies his end. Coming 'within the range of His vision' signifies that Ravana's destiny is now in Shri Rama's hands. Whichever unrighteous entity falls under the Lord's gaze is destined for destruction. This is a proclamation of His infallible resolve.

श्री राम की 'दृष्टि' यहाँ साक्षात् काल का निर्णय है। वे रावण को 'पापः' (पापी) कहकर उसके अंत को न्यायसंगत ठहराते हैं। 'चक्षुर्विषयम्' (आँखों के सामने) आना यह संकेत है कि अब उसका भाग्य श्री राम के हाथों में है। भगवान की दृष्टि जिस अधर्मी पर पड़ती है, उसका विनाश निश्चित हो जाता है। यह उनके अमोघ संकल्प की घोषणा है।
