Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
रामरावणमुक्तानामन्योन्यमभिनिघ्नताम् ।
शराणां च शराणां च बभूव तुमुलः स्वनः ॥६-१०१-६०॥
rāmarāvaṇamuktānām-anyonyamabhinighnatām |
śarāṇāṃ ca śarāṇāṃ ca babhūva tumulaḥ svanaḥ ॥6-101-60॥
Translation
A tumultuous sound arose from the arrows released by Shri Rama and Ravana as they struck each other in mid-air.
हिंदी अनुवाद
श्री राम और रावण द्वारा छोड़े गए और आपस में टकराते हुए उन बाणों का अत्यंत तुमुल और भयंकर शब्द हुआ।
English Commentary
This verse portrays the friction and fierce collision of the missiles. The 'tumultuous sound' indicates the energy released by the meeting of two supreme powers. The clashing of arrows in mid-air proves that the aim was unerring on both sides. It was a duel of the highest order of tactical skill.

यह श्लोक अस्त्रों के घर्षण और उनके भीषण टकराव को चित्रित करता है। 'तुमुलः स्वनः' (भयंकर शोर) उस ऊर्जा का परिचायक है जो दो महाशक्तियों के मिलन से उत्पन्न हो रही थी। हवा में बाणों का बाणों से टकराना यह सिद्ध करता है कि दोनों ओर से निशाने अत्यंत अचूक थे। यह श्रेष्ठतम सामरिक कौशल का द्वंद्व था।
