तयोर्ज्यातलनिर्घोषो रामरावणयोर्महान् ।
त्रासनः सर्वभूतानां सम्बभूवाद्भुतोपमः ॥६-१०१-६२॥
tayōrjyātalanirghōṣō rāmarāvaṇayōrmahān |
trāsanaḥ sarvabhūtānāṃ sambabhūvādbhutōpamam ॥6-101-62॥
Translation
The great sound of the bowstrings of Shri Rama and Ravana was terrifying to all beings and truly wonderful to behold.
हिंदी अनुवाद
श्री राम और रावण के धनुष की डोरी की टंकार का वह महान शब्द सभी प्राणियों को डराने वाला और अत्यंत अद्भुत था।
English Commentary
The twang of a bowstring is the voice of a warrior's resolve. Here, the voices of two opposing poles were colliding. The phrase 'terrifying to all beings' suggests that the resonance of this battle reached even the subtle realms. It was 'wonderful' because such an equilibrium and such a conflict were rare in the history of creation.

धनुष की टंकार (ज्यातल-निर्घोषः) योद्धा के संकल्प का स्वर होती है। यहाँ दो ध्रुवों का स्वर टकरा रहा था। 'त्रासनः सर्वभूतानाम्' (सभी को डराने वाला) शब्द यह बताते हैं कि इस युद्ध की गूँज सूक्ष्म लोकों तक पहुँच रही थी। यह 'अद्भुत' इसलिए था क्योंकि सृष्टि के इतिहास में ऐसा संतुलन और ऐसा संघर्ष दुर्लभ था।
