परं विषादमापन्नो विललापाकुलेन्द्रियः ।
न हि युद्धेन मे कार्यं नैव प्राणैर्न सीतया ॥६-१०२-१०॥
paraṃ viṣādamāpanno vilalāpākulendriyaḥ |
na hi yuddhena me kāryaṃ naiva prāṇairna sītayā ॥6-102-10॥
Translation
Attaining supreme despair and with agitated senses, He lamented: 'I have no need for war, nor for life, nor even for Sita.'
हिंदी अनुवाद
परम विषाद को प्राप्त होकर और व्याकुल इन्द्रियों के साथ वे विलाप करने लगे— 'अब मुझे न युद्ध से कोई प्रयोजन है, न प्राणों से और न ही सीता से' ।
English Commentary
Shri Rama's lamentation signifies total renunciation. Even 'Sita,' for whom He crossed the ocean and built the bridge, now seems redundant without Lakshmana. The term 'Akulendriyah' indicates that His senses were no longer under His control. This represents the peak of sorrow where a person rejects even the greatest goal of their life.

श्री राम का यह विलाप उनके सम्पूर्ण त्याग का सूचक है। जिसके लिए उन्होंने समुद्र लांघा और सेतु बांधा, वही 'सीता' भी अब उन्हें लक्ष्मण जी के बिना व्यर्थ लग रही हैं। 'आकुलेन्द्रियः' शब्द यह बताता है कि उनकी इन्द्रियाँ अब उनके वश में नहीं थीं। यह शोक की वह पराकाष्ठा है जहाँ मनुष्य अपने जीवन के सबसे बड़े लक्ष्य को भी ठुकरा देता है।
