Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
ततः सङ्क्षोदयित्वा तामोषधीं वानरोत्तमः ।
लक्ष्मणस्य ददौ नस्तः सुषेणः सुमहाद्युतेः ॥६-१०२-३५॥
tataḥ saṅkṣodayitvā tāmoṣadhīṃ vānarottamaḥ |
lakṣmaṇasya dadau nastaḥ suṣeṇaḥ sumahādyuteḥ ॥6-102-35॥
Translation
Then, having crushed those herbs, the excellent monkey Sushena administered them to the nose of the highly radiant Lakshmana.

तब उन वानर श्रेष्ठ सुषेण ने उन औषधियों को पीसकर (मसलकर), महातेजस्वी लक्ष्मण की नाक के पास सूंघने के लिए दिया।
English Commentary
The method of administering the herbs is described. Crushing them and applying them through the nostrils ('Nastah') shows Sushena's proficiency in scent-based and vital-point healing. Referring to Lakshmana as 'Sumahadyuteh' (highly radiant) indicates that His divine luster persisted even while He was unconscious.

यहाँ औषधियों के प्रयोग की विधि बताई गई है। 'सङ्क्षोदयित्वा' (पीसकर) और 'नस्तः' (नाक के छिद्रों के माध्यम से) देने का अर्थ है कि सुषेण जी गंध-चिकित्सा (Aromatherapy) और मर्म-चिकित्सा में निपुण थे। लक्ष्मण जी के 'सुमहाद्युतेः' (महातेजस्वी) होने का उल्लेख यह बताता है कि मूर्च्छा में भी उनका दिव्य तेज विद्यमान था।
