न हि मे जीवितेनार्थः सीतया चापि लक्ष्मण ।
को हि मे विजयेनार्थस्त्वयि पञ्चत्वमागते ॥६-१०२-४०॥
na hi me jīvitenārthaḥ sītayā cāpi lakṣmaṇa |
ko hi me vijayenārthastvayi pañcatvamāgate ॥6-102-40॥
Translation
O Lakshmana! Without You, I have no use for life nor for Sita. What would be the point of my victory if You had attained death?
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे लक्ष्मण! तुम्हारे बिना मुझे न जीवन चाहिए और न ही सीता। यदि तुम मृत्यु को प्राप्त हो जाते, तो मेरी इस विजय का क्या मोल होता?
English Commentary
Shri Rama reiterates the sentiment He expressed during His lamentation. He proves that for Him, relationships and love are far above power and victory. This lesson in sacrifice and intimacy is what makes Him the 'Supreme Man of Conduct.' To Him, Lakshmana is not just an ally but an integral part of His very existence.

श्री राम अपनी उस भावना को पुनः दोहराते हैं जो उन्होंने विलाप के समय कही थी। वे सिद्ध करते हैं कि उनके लिए सम्बन्ध और प्रेम, शक्ति और विजय से कहीं ऊपर हैं। यह 'त्याग' और 'आत्मीयता' का वह पाठ है जो श्री राम को मर्यादा पुरुषोत्तम बनाता है। उनके लिए लक्ष्मण जी केवल एक सहायक नहीं, बल्कि उनके अस्तित्व का हिस्सा हैं।
