न जीवन् यास्यते शत्रुस्तव बाणपथं गतः ।
नर्दतस्तीक्ष्णदंष्ट्रस्य सिंहस्येव महागजः ॥६-१०२-४५॥
na jīvan yāsyate śatrustava bāṇapathaṃ gataḥ |
nardatastīkṣṇadaṃṣṭrasya siṃhasyeva mahāgajaḥ ॥6-102-45॥
Translation
The enemy who has come into the path of Your arrows shall not escape alive, just as a great elephant cannot escape from a roaring lion with sharp teeth.
हिंदी अनुवाद
आपकी बाणों की सीमा में आया हुआ शत्रु अब जीवित नहीं बचेगा, जैसे दहाड़ते हुए और तीखे दांतों वाले सिंह के सामने आया हुआ विशाल हाथी नहीं बचता।
English Commentary
The analogy of the lion and the elephant illustrates Shri Rama's invincible majesty. Shri Lakshmana has unwavering faith in His brother's power. He knows that once Shri Rama takes up His bow, even a 'Maharatha' like Ravana becomes as helpless as a common creature. This is an effort to reignite the warrior's self-confidence.

सिंह और हाथी की उपमा श्री राम के अजेय प्रताप को दर्शाती है। लक्ष्मण जी को अपने भाई की शक्ति पर अटूट विश्वास है। वे जानते हैं कि एक बार जब श्री राम धनुष उठा लेते हैं, तो रावण जैसा 'महारथी' भी एक असहाय जीव के समान हो जाता है। यह योद्धा के आत्मविश्वास को पुनः जाग्रत करने का प्रयास है।
