तद्बभूवाद्भुतं युद्धं तुमुलं रोमहर्षणम् ।
रामस्य च महाबाहो रावणस्य च रक्षसः ॥६-१०३-१५॥
tadbabhūvādbhutaṃ yuddhaṃ tumulaṃ romaharṣaṇam |
rāmasya ca mahābāho rāvaṇasya ca rakṣasaḥ ॥6-103-15॥
Translation
Then occurred that wonderful, tumultuous, and hair-raising battle between the mighty-armed Shri Rama and the Rakshasa Ravana.
हिंदी अनुवाद
तब महाबाहु श्री राम और राक्षस रावण का वह अद्भुत, तुमुल (घोर) और रोंगटे खड़े कर देने वाला युद्ध हुआ।
English Commentary
Now the battle was equal (charioteer vs charioteer). The word 'romaharshanam' (hair-raising) indicates this was no ordinary fight. It was history's greatest duel, where Dharma and Adharma clashed in their supreme forms.

अब युद्ध बराबरी का था (रथी विरुद्ध रथी)। 'रोमहर्षणम्' (रोमांचकारी) शब्द बताता है कि यह युद्ध सामान्य नहीं था। यह इतिहास का सबसे महान द्वंद्व था, जहाँ धर्म और अधर्म अपने सर्वोच्च स्वरूपों में टकरा रहे थे।
