ते दीप्तवदना दीप्तं वमन्तो ज्वलनं मुखैः ।
राममेवाभ्यवर्तन्त व्यादितास्या भयानकाः ॥६-१०३-१९॥
te dīptavadanā dīptaṃ vamanto jvalanaṃ mukhaiḥ |
rāmamevābhyavartanta vyāditāsyā bhayānakāḥ ॥6-103-19॥
Translation
Those terrible (serpents), with blazing faces and vomiting burning fire from their mouths, rushed towards Shri Rama alone with gaping jaws.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वे भयानक (सर्प) जिनके मुख जल रहे थे और जो मुखों से प्रज्वलित अग्नि उगल रहे थे, मुंह फैलाकर श्री राम की ही ओर दौड़े।
English Commentary
These were no ordinary snakes; they were illusionary fire-breathing serpents. Their target was Shri Rama alone ('ramameva'). The word 'vyaditasya' (gaping jaws) indicates their intent to devour. This scene was terrifying.
हिंदी टीका
ये सामान्य सर्प नहीं थे, ये अग्नि उगलने वाले मायावी सर्प थे। उनका लक्ष्य केवल श्री राम थे ('राममेव' - श्री राम को ही)। 'व्यादितास्या' (मुंह फैलाए हुए) शब्द उनकी ग्रसने की इच्छा को दर्शाता है। यह दृश्य अत्यंत भयावह था।
