Srimad Valmiki Ramayana - Yuddha Kanda - Sarga 103

तैर्वासुकिसमस्पर्शैर्दीप्तभोगैर्महाविषैः ।
दिशश्च सन्तताः सर्वाः प्रदिशश्च समावृताः ॥६-१०३-२०॥

tairvāsukisamsparśairdīptabhogairmahāviṣaiḥ |
diśaśca santatāḥ sarvāḥ pradiśaśca samāvṛtāḥ ॥6-103-20॥

Translation

All directions and sub-directions were covered by those highly poisonous serpents with shining hoods, whose touch was like that of Vasuki (King of Serpents).

हिंदी अनुवाद

वासुकि नाग के समान स्पर्श (प्रभाव) वाले, चमकते फनों वाले उन महाविषैले सर्पों से समस्त दिशाएं और विदिशाएं भर गईं (घिर गईं)।

English Commentary

The serpents are compared to 'Vasuki', the King of Serpents, implying their venom was lethal. They covered the entire battlefield, leaving no escape route. This was a strategy to encircle Shri Rama completely.

हिंदी टीका

सर्पों की तुलना 'वासुकि' से की गई है, जो नागों का राजा है। इसका अर्थ है कि उनका विष अत्यंत घातक था। उन्होंने पूरे युद्धक्षेत्र को घेर लिया, जिससे बचने का कोई मार्ग नहीं बचा। यह श्री राम को चारों ओर से घेरने की रणनीति थी।
