English Commentary
The intensity of Shri Rama's arrows was such that Ravana had to change his damaged chariot or position. Changing chariots is standard in warfare, but here it indicates the pressure of Shri Rama's attack. 'Chamumukhe' (at the head of the army) clarifies that this duel was now taking place directly between the two leaders, not just the armies.

श्री राम के बाणों की तीव्रता इतनी थी कि रावण को अपना क्षतिग्रस्त रथ या स्थिति बदलनी पड़ी। युद्ध में रथ बदलना एक सामान्य प्रक्रिया है, किन्तु यहाँ यह श्री राम के आक्रमण के दबाव को दर्शाता है। 'चमूमुखे' (सेना के सामने) यह स्पष्ट करता है कि यह द्वंद्व अब सेनाओं के बीच नहीं, बल्कि दो नेताओं के बीच हो रहा था।
