तद्रावणकरान्मुक्तं विद्युज्ज्वालासमाकुलम् ।
अष्टघण्टं महानादं वियद्गतमशोभत ॥६-१०४-२१॥
tadrāvaṇakarānmuktaṃ vidyujjvālāsamākulam |
aṣṭaghaṇṭaṃ mahānādaṃ viyadgatamashobhata ॥6-104-21॥
Translation
Released from Ravana's hand, surrounded by flashes of lightning, possessing eight bells and making a loud sound, it shone/loomed in the sky.
हिंदी अनुवाद
रावण के हाथ से छूटने पर बिजली की ज्वालाओं से घिरा हुआ, आठ घण्टों (घंटियों) वाला और महाशब्द करने वाला वह शूल आकाश में सुशोभित (भयानक प्रतीत) हुआ।
English Commentary
The flight of the Shula is described vividly. It is electrified ('vidyujjvālā') and noisy due to the eight huge bells ('aṣṭaghaṇṭaṃ') attached to it. This design adds psychological terror—the ringing bells announce the approach of death.

शूल का उड़ते हुए वर्णन। यह 'विद्युज्ज्वाला' (बिजली की लपटों) से घिरा है। इसमें 'अष्टघण्टं' (आठ घंटियां) लगी हैं जो उड़ते समय भयानक शोर कर रही हैं। यह दृश्य और श्रव्य (audio-visual) दोनों रूपों में आतंकित करने वाला है।
