भिन्नमर्याद निर्लज्ज चारित्रेष्वनवस्थित ।
दर्पान्मृत्युमुपादाय शूरो ऽहमिति मन्यसे ॥६-१०५-१४॥
bhinnamaryāda nirllajja cāritreṣvanavasthita |
darpānmṛtyumupādāya śūro 'hamiti manyase ॥6-105-14॥
Translation
O violator of boundaries, shameless one, and one unstable in character! Having invited death through your arrogance, do you still deem yourself a hero?
हिंदी अनुवाद
हे मर्यादा तोड़ने वाले, निर्लज्ज और चरित्रहीन राक्षस! अपने घमण्ड के कारण मृत्यु को गले लगाकर भी तुम स्वयं को वीर मान रहे हो?
English Commentary
Calling Ravana 'Bhinnamaryada' (one without boundaries/morals) summarizes the essence of his life. He used his power solely to shatter codes of conduct. Shri Rama warns him that his hubris has been the architect of his death. This verse portrays the blindness of unrighteousness, where an individual mistakes his own ruin for triumph.

रावण को 'भिन्नमर्याद' (मर्यादा विहीन) कहना उसके सम्पूर्ण जीवन के सार को बताता है। उसने शक्ति का उपयोग मर्यादाओं को तोड़ने के लिए किया। श्री राम उसे चेतावनी दे रहे हैं कि उसका अहंकार ही उसकी मृत्यु का कारण बना है। यह श्लोक अधर्म के उस अंधेपन का चित्रण करता है जहाँ व्यक्ति अपने विनाश को भी अपनी विजय समझता है।
