Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
उत्सेकेनाभिपन्नस्य गर्हितस्याहितस्य च ।
कर्मणः प्राप्नुहीदानीं तस्याद्य सुमहत् फलम् ॥६-१०५-१६॥
utsekenābhipannasya garhitasyāhitasya ca |
karmaṇaḥ prāpnuhīdānīṃ tasyādya sumahat phalam ॥6-105-16॥
Translation
Now, reap the exceedingly great fruit of that contemptible and harmful deed which you performed while overcome by arrogance.
हिंदी अनुवाद
अपने अहंकार के वशीभूत होकर तुमने जो यह निन्दनीय और अहितकारी कार्य किया था, आज तुम उस कर्म का अत्यंत भयंकर फल प्राप्त करो।
English Commentary
The immutable principle of 'Karma-phala' (the fruit of action) is declared here. Shri Rama acts as the supreme judge delivering the sentence. The fruit of a 'contemptible' act is equally terrible. This verse proves that in due time, the Divine provides every unrighteous person with the reckoning of their deeds.

यहाँ 'कर्म-फल' का अटल सिद्धांत घोषित किया गया है। श्री राम एक न्यायाधीश की भाँति दंड की घोषणा कर रहे हैं। 'गर्हितस्य' (निन्दनीय) कार्य का फल भी उतना ही भयंकर होता है। यह श्लोक सिद्ध करता है कि समय आने पर ईश्वर प्रत्येक अधर्मी को उसके कर्मों का लेखा-जोखा प्रदान करते हैं।
