Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
अद्य मद्बाणभिन्नस्य गतासोः पतितस्य ते ।
कर्षन्त्वन्त्राणि पतगा गरुत्मन्त इवोरगान् ॥६-१०५-२२॥
adya madbāṇabhinnasya gatāsōḥ patitasya tē |
karṣantvantrāṇi patagā garutmantā ivōragān ॥6-105-22॥
Translation
Today, when you fall lifeless, pierced by my arrows, birds of prey shall drag your intestines just as Garudas drag away serpents.
हिंदी अनुवाद
आज मेरे बाणों से विदीर्ण होकर जब तुम प्राणहीन होकर गिरोगे, तब पक्षी तुम्हारी अंतड़ियों को वैसे ही खींचेंगे जैसे गरुड़ साँपों को खींच ले जाते हैं।
English Commentary
The analogy of Garuda and the serpent is highly effective here. Just as a serpent is helpless before Garuda, so is Ravana before Shri Rama. 'Dragging the intestines' is the peak of the 'Vibhatsa Rasa' (ghastly sentiment), symbolizing the total dismemberment of the ego that tormented the worlds.

गरुड़ और सर्प की उपमा यहाँ अत्यंत प्रभावशाली है। जैसे सर्प गरुड़ के सामने असहाय है, वैसे ही रावण श्री राम के सामने है। 'अन्त्राणि कषर्न्तु' (अंतड़ियों को खींचना) युद्ध के वीभत्स रस की पराकाष्ठा है। यह रावण के उस अहंकार के विनाश का प्रतीक है जिसने सम्पूर्ण लोकों को कष्ट दिया था।
