क्षिप्ताश्चापि शरास्तेन शस्त्राणि विविधानि च ।
न रणार्थाय वर्तन्ते मृत्युकाले ऽभिवर्ततः ॥६-१०५-२९॥
kṣiptāścāpi śarāstēna śastrāṇi vividhāni ca |
na raṇārthāya vartantē mṛtyukālē 'bhivartataḥ ॥6-105-29॥
Translation
Even the arrows and various weapons discharged by him were no longer effective for battle, as he was now approaching the time of his death.

उसके द्वारा छोड़े गए बाण और विविध शस्त्र भी अब युद्ध में काम नहीं आ रहे थे, क्योंकि उसका मृत्यु-काल अब अत्यंत निकट आ गया था।
English Commentary
It is a profound truth that when the 'Time of Death' arrives, all of one's skills and weapons become ineffective. Ravana's missiles were now aimless. This verse conveys that the power of unrighteousness lasts only as long as fate allows, but at the moment of justice, it all turns to naught.
हिंदी टीका
यह एक अत्यंत गम्भीर सत्य है कि जब 'मृत्युकाल' आता है, तो व्यक्ति की सारी विद्याएँ और शस्त्र निष्फल हो जाते हैं। रावण के अस्त्र अब दिशाहीन थे। यह श्लोक यह संदेश देता है कि अधर्म की शक्ति केवल तभी तक है जब तक दैव (भाग्य) साथ है, किन्तु न्याय के क्षण में वह सब शून्य हो जाता है।
