ततोऽयोन्यं सुसंरब्धावुभौ तौ रामरावणौ ।
शरान्धकारे समरे नोपालक्षयतां तदा ॥६-१०५-९॥
tato 'yonyaṃ susaṃrabdhāvubhau tau rāmarāvaṇau |
śarāndhakāre samare nōpālakṣayatāṃ tadā ॥6-105-9॥
Translation
Then, both Shri Rama and Ravana, intensely agitated, could not even see each other in the battle due to the darkness created by the dense volleys of arrows.

तब अत्यंत उत्तेजित वे दोनों— श्री राम और रावण— बाणों द्वारा उत्पन्न किए गए उस घोर अंधकार में एक-दूसरे को देख भी नहीं पा रहे थे।
English Commentary
The intensity of the combat reaches its zenith here. The arrows were so numerous that they created a literal 'darkness' ('Sharandhakara') in the sky. This scene symbolizes the collision of two supreme powers where the laws of the physical world, like light, are obscured. Both warriors were now aiming at each other relying solely on their inner intuition and the power of their mantras.

युद्ध की तीव्रता यहाँ अपनी पराकाष्ठा पर है। बाणों की संख्या इतनी अधिक थी कि उन्होंने आकाश में एक कृत्रिम 'अंधकार' (शरान्धकार) पैदा कर दिया था। यह दृश्य दो सर्वोच्च शक्तियों के टकराव का प्रतीक है जहाँ भौतिक संसार के नियम (जैसे प्रकाश) भी ओझल हो जाते हैं। दोनों योद्धा अब केवल अपनी अंतर्दृष्टि और मन्त्र-शक्ति के बल पर एक-दूसरे को निशाना बना रहे थे।
