हरिदश्वः सहस्रार्चिः सप्तसप्तिर्मरीचिमान् ।
तिमिरोन्मथनः शम्भुस्त्वष्टा मार्तण्ड अंशुमान् ॥६-१०७-११॥
haridaśvaḥ sahasrārciḥ saptasaptirmarīcimān |
timironmathanaḥ śambhustvaṣṭā mārtaṇḍa aṃśumān ॥6-107-11॥
Translation
"He is Haridashva, Sahasrarchi (thousand-rayed), Saptasapti (seven-horsed), Marichiman, Timironmathana (dispeller of darkness), Shambhu, Tvashta, Martanda, and Anshuman."

ये ही हरिदश्व (हरे घोड़ों वाले), सहस्रार्चि (हजारों किरणों वाले), सप्तसप्ति (सात घोड़ों वाले), मरीचिमान, तिमिरोन्मथन (अंधकार का नाश करने वाले), शम्भु (कल्याणकारक), त्वष्टा (विश्वकर्मा/संकोचन करने वाले), मार्तण्ड और अंशुमान हैं।
English Commentary
The epithet 'Timironmathana' (churner/destroyer of darkness) is metaphorically significant for Shri Rama, representing the destruction of the 'darkness' of Ravana. 'Martanda' signifies the life-force infusing the inert universe. 'Shambhu' connects him to Shiva, the source of auspiciousness.
