व्योमनाथस्तमोभेदी ऋग्यजुस्सामपारगः ।
घनवृष्टिरपां मित्रो विन्ध्यवीथीप्लवङ्गमः ॥६-१०७-१३॥
vyomanāthastamobhedī ṛgyajussāmapāragaḥ |
ghanavṛṣṭirapāṃ mitro vindhyavīthīplavaṅgamaḥ ॥6-107-13॥
Translation
"He is the Lord of the Sky, piercer of darkness, master of Rig, Yajur, and Sama Vedas, the sender of heavy rains, friend of waters, and he who moves swiftly across the Vindhya path (sky)."
हिंदी अनुवाद
ये व्योमनाथ (आकाश के स्वामी), तम का भेदन करने वाले, ऋग्वेद, यजुर्वेद और सामवेद के पारगामी विद्वान, घनवृष्टि (वर्षा करने वाले), जल के मित्र और विन्ध्यवीथी (आकाश मार्ग) में वेग से चलने वाले हैं।
English Commentary
Surya is celebrated as the source of Vedic knowledge ('..vedaparagah'). His role in the ecological cycle is highlighted as the friend of waters and bringer of rain. 'Tamobhedi' (piercer of darkness) reinforces his ability to cut through ignorance and enemies alike.

सूर्य को वेदों का स्वामी ('ऋग्यजुस्सामपारगः') कहा गया है, जो उनके ज्ञानस्वरूप को दर्शाता है। वे 'अपां मित्रः' (जल के मित्र) हैं क्योंकि वे जल को वाष्प बनाकर पुनः वर्षा ('घनवृष्टि') के रूप में लौटाते हैं। 'तमोभेदी' विशेषण युद्ध में शत्रुओं के व्यूह को भेदने की क्षमता का द्योतक है।
