एष सुप्तेषु जागर्ति भूतेषु परिनिष्ठितः ।
एष एवाग्निहोत्रं च फलं चैवाग्निहोत्रिणाम् ॥६-१०७-२३॥
eṣa supteṣu jāgarti bhūteṣu pariniṣṭhitaḥ |
eṣa evāgnihotraṃ ca phalaṃ caivāgnihotriṇām ॥6-107-23॥
Translation
"He stays awake when all beings are asleep, residing within them. He is indeed the Agnihotra (fire sacrifice) and the fruit obtained by those who perform the Agnihotra."
हिंदी अनुवाद
ये प्राणियों के सो जाने पर भी जागते रहते हैं और उनमें अंतर्यामी रूप से स्थित हैं। यही अग्निहोत्र हैं और यही अग्निहोत्रियों को मिलने वाला फल भी हैं।
English Commentary
Surya is identified as the indwelling consciousness that never sleeps ('supteṣu jāgarti'). He is the essence of Vedic piety—both the ritual ('Agnihotra') and its result ('phalam'). This elevates the war from a physical fight to a spiritual sacrifice, where Shri Rama is the performer and Ravana is the offering.
हिंदी टीका
सूर्य 'अंतर्यामी' हैं जो सबके हृदय में स्थित हैं। जब सब सोते हैं, तब भी सूर्य (प्राण/चेतना) जागता है। वे वैदिक धर्म का सार हैं—यज्ञ ('अग्निहोत्र') भी वही हैं और उसका 'फल' भी वही। यह धर्म की रक्षा के लिए लड़े जा रहे युद्ध को यज्ञ रूप देता है।
