Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
आदित्यं प्रेक्ष्य जप्त्वा तु परं हर्षमवाप्तवान् ।
त्रिराचम्य शुचिर्भूत्वा धनुरादाय वीर्यवान् ॥६-१०७-२९॥
ādityaṃ prekṣya japtvā tu paraṃ harṣamavāptavān |
trirācamya śucirbhūtvā dhanurādāya vīryavān ॥6-107-29॥
Translation
Gazing at the Sun and chanting this, he experienced supreme joy. Sipping water three times (Achamana) and becoming pure, the mighty one took up his bow.
हिंदी अनुवाद
सूर्य की ओर देखकर और (तीन बार) जप करके उन्होंने परम हर्ष प्राप्त किया। फिर शुद्ध होकर तीन बार आचमन करके, उस वीर्यवान (श्री राम) ने अपना धनुष उठाया।
English Commentary
Shri Rama follows the ritual instructions meticulously: gazing at the Sun, chanting, and performing 'Achamana' (sipping water) for purification. The result is 'param harsham' (supreme joy/confidence). Picking up the bow signifies the transition from prayer to battle, empowered by divine grace.
हिंदी टीका
श्रीश्री राम ने विधि का पालन किया—सूर्य दर्शन, जप और आचमन (शुद्धि)। जप के बाद उन्हें 'परम हर्ष' (आत्मविश्वास) मिला। धनुष उठाना ('धनुरादाय') ज्ञान के क्रिया में बदलने का प्रतीक है। अब वे विषाद-योग से कर्म-योग में आ गए हैं।
