समरे हन्तुमात्मानं तथा तेन कृता मतिः ।
तदप्रमादमातिष्ठन् प्रत्युद्गच्छ रथं रिपोः ॥६-१०८-१०॥
samare hantumātmānaṃ tathā tena kṛtā matiḥ |
tadapramādamātiṣṭhan pratyudgaccha rathaṃ ripoḥ ॥6-108-10॥
Translation
That Ravana has indeed made up his mind to seek his own destruction in this battle. Therefore, exercising absolute vigilance, advance to meet the enemy's chariot.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस रावण ने युद्ध में अपना अंत करने का ही निश्चय कर लिया है। इसलिए तुम पूरी सावधानी के साथ शत्रु के रथ का सामना करने के लिए आगे बढ़ो।
English Commentary
Shri Rama analyzes Ravana's psychological state. He perceives that Ravana's current zeal is actually a suicidal drive. The instruction for 'vigilance' ('Apramada') highlights that any lapse in a battle of this magnitude could be fatal. Shri Rama commands Matali to advance directly and challenge the enemy rather than remaining purely defensive.

श्री राम यहाँ रावण की मानसिक स्थिति का विश्लेषण कर रहे हैं। वे जानते हैं कि रावण का वर्तमान उत्साह वास्तव में उसका 'आत्मघाती' कदम है। 'अप्रमादम्' (सावधानी) का निर्देश यह दर्शाता है कि युद्ध में एक पल की भी असावधानी भारी पड़ सकती है। श्री राम मातलि को आदेश देते हैं कि वे रक्षात्मक होने के बजाय सीधे शत्रु के सामने जाकर उसे ललकारें।
