युक्तं परमसम्पन्नैर्वाजिभिर्हेममालिभिः ।
युद्धोपकरणैः पूर्णं पताकाध्वजमालिनम् ॥६-१०८-२॥
yuktaṃ paramasampannairvājibhirhemamālibhiḥ |
yuddhopakaraṇaiḥ pūrṇaṃ patākādhvajamālinam ॥6-108-2॥
Translation
The chariot was yoked with excellent horses adorned with golden garlands; it was fully equipped with weapons and tools of war, and decorated with a multitude of flags and banners.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह रथ सुवर्ण की मालाओं से सजे हुए अत्यंत उत्तम घोड़ों से जुता था, युद्ध के सभी उपकरणों से पूर्ण था और छोटी-बड़ी पताकाओं की मालाओं से सजा हुआ था।
English Commentary
The decoration of Ravana's chariot displays the unparalleled opulence of Lanka. Horses adorned with golden garlands and the inclusion of every possible war implement prove that Ravana intended to pour his entire strategic power into this final confrontation. रावण के रथ की सज्जा लंका के अतुलनीय ऐश्वर्य को प्रदर्शित करती है। 'हेममालिभिः' (स्वर्ण की माला वाले) घोड़े और युद्ध के विविध उपकरणों से भरा होना यह सिद्ध करता है कि रावण अपनी पूरी सामरिक शक्ति को इस अंतिम युद्ध में झोंक देना चाहता था। यह रथ एक चलते-फिरते शस्त्रगार के समान था, जो अधर्म की भौतिक शक्ति के चरम को दर्शाता है।
