ग्रसन्तमिव चाकाशं नादयन्तं वसुन्धराम् ।
प्रणाशं परसैन्यानां स्वसैन्यानां प्रहर्षणम् ॥६-१०८-३॥
grasantamiva cākāśaṃ nādayantaṃ vasundharām |
praṇāśaṃ parasainyānāṃ svasainyānāṃ praharṣaṇam ॥6-108-3॥
Translation
That chariot appeared as if it were devouring the sky and made the earth resound with its noise. It brought destruction to the enemy forces and gave immense joy to its own troops.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह रथ मानो आकाश को निगल रहा था और अपनी ध्वनि से पृथ्वी को गुँजा रहा था। वह शत्रु सेना का विनाश करने वाला और अपनी सेना को अत्यंत हर्षित करने वाला था।
English Commentary
The impact of the chariot's speed and sound is described here. 'Devouring the sky' signifies its immense scale and velocity. Its very resonance served to incite enthusiasm in his own army and strike fear into the hearts of the foes. This verse reveals Ravana's reliance on psychological dominance through the sheer spectacle of his military hardware.

रथ की गति और ध्वनि का प्रभाव यहाँ वर्णित है। 'आकाश को निगलना' उसकी विशालता और तीव्र गति का सूचक है। इसकी गूँज मात्र से अपनी सेना में उत्साह और शत्रुओं में भय उत्पन्न होता था। यह श्लोक रावण के मनोवैज्ञानिक युद्ध कौशल को भी प्रकट करता है, जहाँ वह अपने रथ के माध्यम से ही अपनी प्रभुता स्थापित करने का प्रयास करता है।
