ताम्राः पीताः सिताश्वेताः पतिताः सूर्यरश्मयः ।
दृश्यन्ते रावणस्याङ्गे पर्वतस्येव धातवः ॥६-१०८-२६॥
tāmrāḥ pītāḥ sitāśvētāḥ patitāḥ sūryaraśmayaḥ |
dṛśyantē rāvaṇasyāṅgē parvatasyēva dhātavaḥ ॥6-108-26॥
Translation
The sunbeams falling on Ravana's body appeared copper-red, yellow, and white, looking like the various minerals glowing on a mountain.
हिंदी अनुवाद
रावण के शरीर पर गिरने वाली सूर्य की किरणें तांबे के समान लाल, पीली और सफेद दिखाई दे रही थीं, जैसे पर्वत पर स्थित विभिन्न धातुएँ चमकती हैं।
English Commentary
The strange coloration of the sunbeams reflects a natural upheaval. Comparing Ravana's body to a mountain indicates his density and enormity. However, these colors were not signs of his radiance but portents of his destructive end. This visual portrays his 'Asura-tejas' on the verge of disintegration.

सूर्य की किरणों का यह विचित्र रंग (ताम्राः पीताः) प्रकृति के विपर्यय को दर्शाता है। रावण के शरीर की तुलना पर्वत से करना उसकी जड़ता और विशालता का सूचक है। किन्तु ये रंग उसके तेज के नहीं, बल्कि उसके विनाशकारी अंत के प्रतीक थे। यह दृश्य उसके उस 'असुर-तेज' को चित्रित करता है जो अब बिखरने वाला था।
