जघनेभ्यः स्फुलिङ्गांश्च नेत्रेभ्यो ऽश्रूणि सन्ततम् ।
मुमुचुस्तस्य तुरगास्तुल्यमग्निं च वारि च ॥६-१०८-३२॥
jaghanēbhyaḥ sphuliṅgāṃśca nētrēbhyō ऽ śrūṇi santatam |
mumu custasya turagāstulyamagniṃ ca vāri ca ॥6-108-32॥
Translation
Sparks issued from the hind-parts of his horses and tears flowed continuously from their eyes; those steeds were emitting fire and water simultaneously.
हिंदी अनुवाद
रावण के घोड़ों के पिछले भाग से चिनगारियाँ निकलने लगीं और उनकी आँखों से निरंतर आँसू बहने लगे; वे घोड़े एक साथ अग्नि और जल छोड़ रहे थे।
English Commentary
The condition of the horses was both astonishing and terrifying. The tears in their eyes indicated their helplessness and grief, while the sparks suggested the destructive energy about to consume them. The simultaneous presence of fire and water symbolizes the total disruption of natural equilibrium as Ravana's end neared.
हिंदी टीका
घोड़ों की यह दशा अत्यंत विस्मयकारी और डरावनी थी। आँखों में आँसू (अश्रूणि) उनकी विवशता और शोक के सूचक थे, जबकि चिनगारियाँ (स्फुलिङ्गाः) उस प्रलयकारी ऊर्जा की थीं जो उन्हें भस्म करने वाली थी। अग्नि और जल का यह साथ होना (अग्निं च वारि च) प्रकृति के संतुलन के पूर्णतः नष्ट होने का प्रतीक है।
