तडित्पताकागहनं दर्शितेन्द्रायुधायुधम् ।
शरधारा विमुञ्चन्तं धारासारमिवाम्बुदम् ॥६-१०८-६॥
taḍitpatākāgahanaṃ darśitendrāyudhāyudham |
śaradhārā vimuñcantaṃ dhārāsāramivāmbudam ॥6-108-6॥
Translation
The chariot was thick with banners flashing like lightning, displayed weapons as colorful as a rainbow, and discharged streams of arrows like a cloud pouring torrential rain.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वह रथ बिजली के समान चमकती पताकाओं से भरा था, जिसमें इन्द्रधनुष के समान रंगीन शस्त्र दिखाई दे रहे थे और वह बाणों की धाराओं को वैसे ही छोड़ रहा था जैसे मूसलाधार वर्षा करने वाला मेघ।
English Commentary
Here, Ravana's chariot is compared to a destructive storm cloud. The flash of banners is like lightning, and the variety of weapons is like a rainbow. The analogy 'Dharasaram iva' depicts the continuous and torrential rain of arrows Ravana was discharging. This description vividly captures the final exhibition of the Rakshasa king's martial superiority.

यहाँ रावण के रथ की तुलना एक विनाशकारी मेघ से की गई है। पताकाओं की चमक बिजली जैसी है और शस्त्रों की विविधता इन्द्रधनुष जैसी। 'धारासारम् इव' उपमा बाणों की उस अटूट वर्षा को दर्शाती है जो रावण कर रहा था। यह वर्णन लंका के राजा की सामरिक श्रेष्ठता के अंतिम प्रदर्शन को सजीव कर देता है।
