विस्फारयन् वै वेगेन बालचन्द्रनतं धनुः ।
उवाच मातलिं रामः सहस्राक्षस्य सारथिम् ॥६-१०८-८॥
viṣphārayan vai vegena bālacandranataṃ dhanuḥ |
uvāca mātaliṃ rāmaḥ sahasrākṣasya sārathim ॥6-108-8॥
Translation
Twanging His bow, which was curved like the crescent moon, with great force, Shri Rama spoke to Matali, the charioteer of Indra (the thousand-eyed god).
हिंदी अनुवाद
बाल-चंद्रमा के समान झुके हुए अपने धनुष की बड़े वेग से टंकार करते हुए, श्री राम ने इन्द्र (सहस्राक्ष) के सारथी मातलि से यह बात कही।
English Commentary
Comparing the bow to a 'crescent moon' highlights its graceful curve and divine luster. Shri Rama twanging the bow is the final and supreme declaration of war. He addresses Matali, the driver of the chariot sent by Indra. This scene proves that the conflict has escalated to a cosmic scale, where the King of Heaven Himself has intervened to support Shri Rama.

धनुष की तुलना 'बाल-चंद्रमा' से करना उसकी सुंदर वक्रता और सात्विक तेज को दर्शाता है। श्री राम का धनुष उठाना युद्ध की अंतिम और सर्वोच्च घोषणा है। वे मातलि को संबोधित कर रहे हैं, जो देवराज इन्द्र द्वारा भेजे गए रथ के सारथी हैं। यह दृश्य सिद्ध करता है कि अब यह युद्ध केवल पृथ्वी का नहीं, बल्कि सम्पूर्ण ब्रह्मांड का युद्ध बन चुका है जहाँ स्वयं इन्द्र ने श्री राम की सहायता के लिए अपना रथ भेजा है।
