जगाम स महीं छित्त्वा दशग्रीवध्वजं शरः ।
स निकृत्तो ऽपतद्भूमौ रावणस्य रथध्वजः ॥६-१०९-१२॥
jagāma sa mahīṃ chittvā daśagrīvadhvajaṃ śaraḥ |
sa nikṛtto 'patadbhumau rāvaṇasya rathadhvajaḥ ॥6-109-12॥
Translation
That arrow, having cut Ten-necked one's flag, entered the earth. That severed flag of Ravana's chariot fell to the ground.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस बाण ने दशग्रीव की ध्वजा को काटकर पृथ्वी में प्रवेश किया। वह कटा हुआ रावण के रथ का ध्वज भूमि पर गिर पड़ा।
English Commentary
Shri Rama's aim was unerring. The falling of the flag is an omen of the king's fall. Not only was the flag cut, but the arrow pierced through and entered the earth, demonstrating the immense velocity of the strike. The symbol of Ravana's pride was razed to the ground.
हिंदी टीका
श्री राम का निशाना अचूक था। ध्वजा का गिरना राजा के पतन का पूर्वसंकेत (omen) है। ध्वज न केवल कटा, बल्कि बाण उसे काटकर पृथ्वी में समा गया, जो प्रहार के प्रचंड वेग को दर्शाता है। रावण के अभिमान का प्रतीक भूमिसात हो गया।
