Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
शरबद्धमिवाभाति द्वितीयं भास्वदम्बरम् ।
नानिमित्तो ऽभवद्बाणो नातिभेत्ता न निष्फलः ॥६-१०९-२४॥
śarabaddhamivābhāti dvitīyaṃ bhāsvadambaram |
nānimitto 'bhavadbāṇo nātibhettā na niṣphalaḥ ॥6-109-24॥
Translation
...the sky appeared as if woven with arrows, like a second shining sky. No arrow was without a target, none failed to pierce, and none was fruitless.
हिंदी अनुवाद
...आकाश बाणों से बंधा हुआ सा, एक दूसरे चमकते आकाश जैसा प्रतीत होने लगा। (उनका) कोई भी बाण लक्ष्यहीन (निमित्त रहित) नहीं था, न ऐसा था जो न भेद सके, और न ही कोई विफल हुआ।
English Commentary
The density of arrows was such that it seemed a new sky had formed. 'Nanimittah' (not without cause/target) shows that despite the massive volume of arrows, the accuracy of both warriors was 100%. Every arrow hit a target or intercepted an enemy arrow.
हिंदी टीका
बाणों की सघनता इतनी थी कि लगा एक नया आकाश बन गया है। 'नानिमित्तः' (बिना कारण/लक्ष्य के नहीं) यह दर्शाता है कि इतनी बड़ी संख्या में बाण छोड़ने पर भी दोनों योद्धाओं की सटीकता (accuracy) 100% थी। हर बाण अपने लक्ष्य पर लगा या उसने शत्रु के बाण को काटा।
