प्रयुध्यमानौ समरे महाबलौ शितैः शरै रावणलक्ष्मणाग्रजौ ।
ध्वजावपातेन स राक्षसाधिपो भृशं प्रचुक्रोध तदा रघूत्तमे ॥६-१०९-२९॥
prayudhyamānau samare mahābalau śitaiḥ śarai rāvaṇalakṣmaṇāgrajau |
dhvajāvapātena sa rākṣasādhipo bhṛśaṃ pracukrodha tadā raghūttame ॥6-109-29॥
Translation
While the mighty Ravana and the elder brother of Lakshmana (Shri Rama) were fighting with sharp arrows in the battle, the Lord of Rakshasas became extremely angry at the best of Raghus because of the felling of his flag.
हिंदी अनुवाद
युद्ध में तीक्ष्ण बाणों से लड़ते हुए वे महाबली रावण और लक्ष्मण के बड़े भाई (श्री राम); ध्वजा के गिराए जाने के कारण वह राक्षसराज (रावण) रघूत्तम (श्री राम) पर तब अत्यंत क्रोधित हुआ।
English Commentary
The sarga concludes by revisiting Ravana's anger. Even amidst such a fierce battle, Ravana could not forget the insult of his severed flag (verse 12). This rage would fuel even more aggressive attacks in the next sarga. Addressing Shri Rama as 'Lakshmanagraja' (elder brother of Lakshmana) and 'Raghuttama' (Best of Raghus) highlights his human and noble aspects.

सर्ग का समापन पुनः रावण के क्रोध पर होता है। इतने भीषण युद्ध के बीच भी रावण अपनी कटी हुई ध्वजा (श्लोक 12) के अपमान को भूल नहीं पाया था। यह क्रोध अगले सर्ग में और अधिक आक्रामक हमलों का कारण बनेगा। श्री राम को 'लक्ष्मणाग्रज' और 'रघूत्तम' कहकर उनके मानवीय और कुलीन पक्षों को उभारा गया है।
