ते शरास्तमनासाद्य पुरन्दररथध्वजम् ।
रथशक्तिं परामृश्य निपेतुर्धरणीतले ॥६-१०९-९॥
te śarāstamanāsādya purandararathadhvajam |
rathaśaktiṃ parāmṛśya nipeturdharaṇītale ॥6-109-9॥
Translation
Those arrows, failing to reach the flag of Indra's chariot, touched the chariot's shaft/power and fell to the ground.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वे बाण इंद्र (पुरंदर) के उस रथ की ध्वजा तक न पहुँचकर, रथ की शक्ति (दण्ड/धुरा) को स्पर्श करके पृथ्वी पर गिर पड़े।
English Commentary
Since this chariot belonged to Indra himself, its defense was impenetrable. Ravana's arrows failed to damage the flag. 'Rathashaktim' could refer to the chariot's power or the staff holding the flag. Ravana's attempt was futile, signaling the divine protection surrounding Shri Rama.

चूंकि यह रथ स्वयं देवराज इंद्र का था, इसकी सुरक्षा अभेद्य थी। रावण के बाण ध्वजा को हानि पहुँचाने में असफल रहे। 'रथशक्तिं' का अर्थ रथ की शक्ति या वह दण्ड हो सकता है जिस पर ध्वजा लगी थी। रावण का यह प्रयास निष्फल हुआ, जो श्री राम की दैवीय सुरक्षा का संकेत था।
