स बभूव कृशो राजा मैथिलीकाममोहितः ।
असमानाच्च सुहृदां पापः पापेन कर्मणा ॥६-११-१॥
sa babhūva kṛśo rājā maithilīkāmamohitaḥ । asamānācca suhṛdāṃ pāpaḥ pāpena karmaṇā ॥6-11-1॥
Translation
That sinful King (Ravana), deluded by lust for Maithili, became emaciated/distressed due to his sinful deeds and by disregarding his well-wishers.
हिंदी अनुवाद
पाप कर्म करने वाला वह पापी राजा (रावण), मैथिली (सीता) के काम (प्रेम) से मोहित होकर, और सुहृदों (मित्रों/हितैषियों) की (बात) न मानने से कृश (कमजोर/दुखी) हो गया था।
English Commentary
The canto opens with a diagnosis of Ravana's condition. Despite his external pomp, he is internally 'kṛśa' (withered/emaciated). The cause is twofold: obsessive lust ('kama') and the rejection of wise counsel ('asamanat suhrdam'). This sets the stage for his desperate need to convene another assembly, seeking validation rather than truth.

ग्यारहवें सर्ग का आरंभ रावण की मानसिक और शारीरिक स्थिति से होता है। 'मैथिलीकाममोहितः' - सीता के प्रति मोह उसे खाए जा रहा है। 'असमानाच्च सुहृदां' - विभीषण जैसे हितैषियों की उपेक्षा ने उसे और कमजोर कर दिया है। पाप कर्म का फल अंततः कर्ता के विनाश (कृशता) के रूप में सामने आता है। रावण शक्तिशाली होते हुए भी भीतर से खोखला हो रहा है।
