अतीतसमये काले तस्मिन् वै युधि रावणः ।
अमात्यैश्च सुहृद्भिश्च प्राप्तकालममन्यत ॥६-११-२॥
atītasamaye kāle tasmin vai yudhi rāvaṇaḥ । amātyaiśca suhṛdbhiśca prāptakālamamanyata ॥6-11-2॥
Translation
When the time was ripe (for war), Ravana considered it appropriate to deliberate on the timely action with his ministers and friends.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस समय (युद्ध की अवधि) के बीत जाने पर (या युद्ध का समय निकट आने पर), रावण ने मंत्रियों और मित्रों के साथ 'प्राप्तकाल' (उचित समय) के कर्तव्य पर विचार करना उचित समझा।
English Commentary
The urgency of the situation dawns on Ravana. 'Atitasamaye' suggests that the time for diplomacy or delay has passed. He convenes a formal council ('Amtyas' and 'Suhrids') to decide the 'praptakalam' (what must be done now). It marks the shift from personal obsession to state emergency.

युद्ध आसन्न है। रावण को अहसास हो गया है कि अब टालमटोल ('अतीतसमये') का समय नहीं है। उसे 'प्राप्तकाल' (Timely action) - अर्थात् युद्ध की रणनीति - पर चर्चा करनी होगी। यह सभा पिछले सर्ग की अनौपचारिक चर्चा से अधिक औपचारिक और विस्तृत होगी।
