ते कृताञ्जलयः सर्वे रथस्थं पृथिवीस्थिताः ।
राक्षसा राक्षसश्रेष्ठं शिरोभिस्तं ववन्दिरे ॥६-११-१३॥
te kṛtāñjalayaḥ sarve rathasthaṃ pṛthivīsthitāḥ । rākṣasā rākṣasaśreṣṭhaṃ śirobhistam vavandire ॥6-11-13॥
Translation
All those Rakshasas standing on the ground bowed with their heads and folded hands to the best of Rakshasas seated in the chariot.
हिंदी अनुवाद
रथ पर बैठे हुए उस राक्षसश्रेष्ठ को, पृथ्वी पर खड़े हुए उन सभी राक्षसों ने हाथ जोड़कर सिर झुकाकर प्रणाम किया।
English Commentary
Homage of the subjects. The vertical hierarchy is physical—Ravana elevated on the chariot, subjects on the ground ('prithivisthitah'). Their bow signifies absolute submission to his authority.
हिंदी टीका
प्रजा का सम्मान। रावण रथ पर है, बाकी सब जमीन पर। यह ऊँच-नीच का भेद शासक और शासित के बीच की दूरी बताता है। 'शिरोभिः' (सिर से) वंदना करना पूर्ण समर्पण है।
