ते रथान् रुचिरानेके हह्यानेके पृथग्विधान् ।
नागानन्येऽधिरुरुहुर्जग्मुश्चैके पदातयः ॥६-११-२१॥
te rathān rucirāneke hahyāneke pṛthagvidhān । nāgānanye'dhiruruhurjagmuścaike padātayaḥ ॥6-11-21॥
Translation
Many of them mounted beautiful chariots, others diverse horses, and others elephants; and some went on foot.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उनमें से अनेक ने सुंदर रथों पर, अनेकों ने विविध प्रकार के घोड़ों पर और अन्यों ने हाथियों पर सवारी की; और कुछ पैदल ही चल पड़े।
English Commentary
Responding to the call. The chaotic but swift movement of troops towards the palace. The variety of transport ('ratha', 'haya', 'naga') shows the diversity of the army's divisions.
हिंदी टीका
सभा के लिए प्रस्थान। बुलावा मिलते ही राक्षस अपने-अपने वाहनों से चल पड़े। कोई रथ पर, कोई हाथी पर। यह 'मोबिलाइजेशन' (Mobilization) का दृश्य है।
