सुवर्णानामणिभूषणानां सुवाससां संसदि राक्षसानाम् ।
तेषां परार्ध्यागुरुचन्दनानां स्रजश्च गन्धाः प्रववुः समन्तात् ॥६-११-३१॥
suvarṇanāmamaṇibhūṣaṇānāṃ suvāsasāṃ saṃsadi rākṣasānām । teṣāṃ parārdhyāgurucandanānāṃ srajaśca gandhāḥ pravavuḥ samantāt ॥6-11-31॥
Translation
In the assembly, the fragrances of excellent Agaru, sandal, and garlands wafted all around from those Rakshasas who were adorned with gold and gem ornaments and fine garments.
हिंदी अनुवाद
उस सभा में, सोने और मणियों के आभूषण पहने हुए तथा सुंदर वस्त्र धारण किए हुए उन राक्षसों के (शरीर से), श्रेष्ठ अगरु, चंदन और मालाओं की सुगंध चारों ओर फैल रही थी।
English Commentary
Olfactory ambience. The air is heavy with expensive perfumes ('agaru', 'chandana'). It creates an atmosphere of luxury and refinement, masking the brutal nature of the participants.

सुगंधित वातावरण। सभा अगरु और चंदन की खुशबू से महक रही है। राक्षस भले ही क्रूर हों, लेकिन वे सौंदर्य-प्रेमी और सुसंस्कृत (Refined) जीवन जीते हैं। यह वर्णन 'बीभत्स' और 'ललित' का संगम है।
