गदामुसलवर्षेण रामं प्रत्यर्दयद्रणे ।
तत्प्रवृत्तं महद्युद्धं तुमुलं रोमहर्षणम् ॥६-११०-१६॥
gadāmusalavarṣeṇa rāmaṃ pratyardayadraṇe |
tatpravṛttaṃ mahadyuddhaṃ tumulaṃ romaharṣaṇam ॥6-110-16॥
Translation
...began to torment Shri Rama in battle with a shower of maces and pestles. That great, tumultuous, and hair-raising war continued.
हिंदी अनुवाद
...गदा और मूसल की वर्षा से युद्ध में श्री राम को पीड़ित करने लगा। वह महान, तुमुल और रोंगटे खड़े कर देने वाला युद्ध प्रवृत्त (जारी) हुआ।
English Commentary
Ravana again resorted to heavy weapons (maces, pestles). The adjective 'romaharshanam' appears repeatedly, emphasizing the uniqueness of this battle.
