एवं जपन्तो ऽपश्यंस्ते देवाः सर्षिगणास्तदा ।
रामरावणयोर्युद्धं सुघोरं रोमहर्षणम् ॥६-११०-२२॥
evaṃ japanto 'paśyaṃste devāḥ sarṣigaṇāstadā |
rāmarāvaṇayoryuddhaṃ sughoraṃ romaharṣaṇam ॥6-110-22॥
Translation
Chanting thus, those Devas and groups of Rishis watched that exceedingly terrible and hair-raising battle between Shri Rama and Ravana.
हिंदी अनुवाद
इस प्रकार जप (प्रार्थना) करते हुए उन देवताओं और ऋषिगणों ने तब श्री राम और रावण का वह सुघोर और रोंगटे खड़े करने वाला युद्ध देखा।
English Commentary
Along with prayer, they watched the battle in awe. The word 'japantah' implies they were continuously chanting for Shri Rama's victory, as the outcome still seemed uncertain.

प्रार्थना के साथ-साथ वे युद्ध को विस्मय से देख रहे थे। 'जपन्तः' शब्द बताता है कि वे निरंतर श्री राम की विजय की कामना कर रहे थे क्योंकि युद्ध का परिणाम अभी भी अनिश्चित लग रहा था।
