परस्परवधे युक्तौ घोररूपौ बभूवतुः ।
मण्डलानि च वीथीश्च गतप्रत्यागतानि च ॥६-११०-३॥
parasparavadhe yuktau ghorarūpau babhūvatuḥ |
maṇḍalāni ca vīthīśca gatapratyāgatāni ca ॥6-110-3॥
Translation
...became terrible in appearance, intent on killing each other. They performed various maneuvers like Mandala (circular), Vithi (linear), and Gata-pratyagata (advancing and retreating).

English Commentary
Technical terminology of chariot warfare is used here. 'Mandala', 'Vithi', etc., are specific maneuvers. Both warriors were displaying these complex movements to outmaneuver each other. Their sole objective was 'parasparavadha' (killing each other).

यहाँ रथ-युद्ध की तकनीकी शब्दावली का प्रयोग है। 'मंडल', 'वीथी' आदि रथ चलाने की विशेष चालें (maneuvers) हैं। दोनों योद्धा एक-दूसरे को मात देने के लिए इन जटिल गतियों का प्रदर्शन कर रहे थे। उनका उद्देश्य केवल एक था—'परस्परवध' (एक-दूसरे का वध)।
