चतुर्भिश्चतुरो दीप्तैर्हयान् प्रत्यपसर्पयत् ।
स क्रोधवशमापन्नो हयानामपसर्पणे ॥६-११०-९॥
caturbhiścaturo dīptairhayān pratyapasarpayat |
sa krodhavaśamāpanno hayānāmapasarpaṇe ॥6-110-9॥
Translation
...forced the four horses to retreat with four blazing arrows. He (Ravana) became overcome with rage at the retreating of his horses.
हिंदी अनुवाद
...चार घोड़ों को चार जलते हुए बाणों से पीछे हटा दिया। घोड़ों के पीछे हट जाने पर वह (रावण) क्रोध के वश में हो गया।
English Commentary
Shri Rama did not just kill the horses but 'pratyapasarpayat' (forced them back). This was a move to destabilize Ravana's chariot. When the vehicle retreats, the warrior's balance and morale both suffer, causing Ravana's rage.
हिंदी टीका
श्री राम ने केवल घोड़ों को मारा नहीं, बल्कि उन्हें 'प्रत्यपसर्पयत्' (पीछे हटा दिया)। यह रावण के रथ को असंतुलित करने की चाल थी। जब वाहन पीछे हटता है, तो योद्धा का संतुलन और मनोबल दोनों बिगड़ते हैं, जिससे रावण को क्रोध आया।
