Srimad Valmiki Ramayana
वज्रसारं महानादं नानासमितिदारणम् ।
सर्ववित्रासनं भीमं श्वसन्तमिव पन्नगम् ॥६-१११-१०॥
vajrasāraṃ mahānādaṃ nānāsamitidāraṇam |
sarvavitrāsanaṃ bhīmaṃ śvasantamiva pannagam ॥6-111-10॥
Translation
Hard as a thunderbolt, making a loud sound, destroyer of various armies, terrifying to all, fearful, and like a hissing serpent.
हिंदी अनुवाद
वज्र के समान सार (कठोरता) वाला, महाशब्द करने वाला, अनेक युद्धों/सेनाओं को विदीर्ण करने वाला, सबको डराने वाला, भयानक और फुफकारते हुए सर्प जैसा था।
English Commentary
The weapon combines physical hardness ('vajrasāraṃ') with psychological terror ('mahānādaṃ', 'sarvavitrāsanaṃ'). It has torn apart many armies ('samiti') in the past. Comparing it again to a 'hissing serpent' emphasizes its lethal, living nature—it is hungry for the kill.

बाण की कठोरता 'वज्रसार' है। जब यह चलता है तो 'महानाद' (भयानक ध्वनि) करता है, जो मनोवैज्ञानिक रूप से शत्रु को परास्त करता है। 'सर्ववित्रासनं' (सबको डराने वाला) इसका मुख्य गुण है। यह रावण के अंत के लिए पूर्णतः उपयुक्त है।
