द्वाराणां परिघाणां च गिरीणामपि भेदनम् ।
नानारुधिरसिक्ताङ्गं मेदोदिग्धं सुदारुणम् ॥६-१११-९॥
dvārāṇāṃ parighāṇāṃ ca girīṇāmapi bhedanam |
nānārudhirasiktāṅgaṃ medodigdhaṃ sudāruṇam ॥6-111-9॥
Translation
Capable of breaking gates, iron bars, and even mountains; soaked in various kinds of blood, smeared with marrow/fat, and extremely terrible.
हिंदी अनुवाद
द्वारों, परिघों (लौह अर्गलाओं) और पर्वतों को भी भेदने वाला; (शत्रुओं के) नाना प्रकार के रक्त से लथपथ अंगों वाला, चर्बी (मेद) से लिपटा हुआ और अत्यंत दारुण था।
English Commentary
The penetrating power of the arrow is absolute—gates, iron bars, and mountains pose no obstacle. The description becomes visceral: it is stained with the blood and marrow of past enemies ('medodigdhaṃ'). This history of slaughter adds to its aura of terror and efficacy.
हिंदी टीका
यह बाण अभेद्य वस्तुओं (पहाड़, लोहे के दरवाजे) को भी भेद सकता है। 'नानारुधिरसिक्ताङ्गं' बताता है कि इस बाण ने अतीत में अनेक युद्ध जीते हैं और अनेक असुरों का रक्त पिया है। इसका स्वरूप वीभत्स और भयानक ('सुदारुणम्') है जो मृत्यु का साक्षात रूप है।
